Afternoons with Amos, the first Indiana radio station to broadcast live from Indiana’s Legislature, began its 8th year of broadcasts live from the State Capitol. Amos talked with Democratic and Republican legislators about the major issues in this year’s Legislature. In Part One of the program, State Rep. Gerald Torr (R-Carmel) explained his plan to make Indiana a Right to Work State. State Rep. Bill Crawford (D-Indy) talked about Democrats’ insistence that jobs, not educational reform should be the priority and that education funding shouldn’t be cut.  State Rep Cindy Noe (R-Indy) talked about education reform and sentencing reform. State Rep Vanessa Summers (D-Indy), Chair of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus, talked about the Caucus’ concerns about education reform, charter schools, vouchers and jobs in our community. State Senator Greg Taylor (D-Indy) discussed his opposition to right to work and discussed sentencing reform.
