Teachers are already underpaid for the work that they put in and in the state of Indiana, it may seriously get worse! Nate Schnellenberger is the President of the Indiana State Teachers Association and he is saying that by 2011 about 6,000 teaching jobs will cease to exist if they do not accumulate the proper funding immediately.

The Teachers of Indiana are now looking to Congress to soothe their financial woes. If the plea to Congress is heard and accepted the state will receive 300 Million Dollars! That would save around 7200 jobs right now. Now the money won’t solve any and everything but, Schnellenberger is hoping it will serve as a gap until the economy turns and the tax revenues bounce back.

The Indiana Department of Education has not said yes or no to the proposal. They are waiting for a more concrete draft on the matter before they will agree to anything that has been stated so far.

I think we’ve saved enough banks already. Education is still the most powerful tool we have because it is used forever! We all have a friend or a relative affected by this so please continue to pray for the Indiana School System
