It’s the BIG THING in the City of Lawrence on Indy’s northeast side.  The town of 46,001 now has their own local bus service to take residents to work and shopping.  The Lawrence Transit System has begun service to Lawrence residents.  Serving areas of the Indiana’s 18th largest community that have never had bus service or public transportation before.  Organizers of the new Lawrence Transit System appeared on Afternoons with Amos to talk about the new system, the routes, the areas they serve and explain this unique entity. Talking with Amos was Joe Williams and Cliff and Paula Redden of the Lawrence Transit System. They explained that they raised money from investors and in a unique twist, the transit company is non profit.  They’re out to serve rather than make lots of profit.
