This week the first charter school chartered not by the City or Ball State, but by the State of Indiana opens in midtown Indianapolis. It’s the Carpe Diem School and it introduces a new concept in education.  The school was founded by Arizona pastor and businessman Rick Ogsten. Interviewed on Afternoons with Amos, the Carpe Diem creator talked about his school’s mission which is creating individualized learning for students in sixth grade through high school using traditional methods and modern technology. At Carpe Diem students can finish far ahead of a normal school and earn not only a high school diploma, but college credit and degrees.  Hear our in depth interview with Carpe Diem’s founder. The Indianapolis school is located at 2240 N. Meridian.
