Indianapolis TV has a new First! The first African-American female TV meteorologist.  She’s Ashley Brown, an Indy native who brings viewers the weather every weekday morning on WRTV/Channel 6.  Ashley talked with broadcasting Hall of Famer Amos Brown on Afternoons with Amos.  Ashley Brown (no relation) graduated from North Central High School and attended Ball State where she majored in meteorology and minored in broadcasting.  While in college she worked as a part time announcer on Hot 96.3, WTLC-FM106.7 and the former Smooth Jazz 100.9.  After college, Ashley’s first TV weather job was spending four years in Palm Springs at ABC affiliate KESQ-TV. She told Amos and listeners how excited she is to be back home and working at Channel 6 with her morning meteorologist colleague Todd Klassen and Channel 6’s legendary Kevin Gregory. You can watch Ashley weekday mornings on Good Morning Indiana with Grace Trahan and Chris Proffitt.
