Susan Brooks, the Republican candidate for Congress in Indiana’s 5th District appeared on Afternoons with Amos to talk about her campaign. And she made a surprising revelation.  The Ivy Tech executive and former Indianapolis Deputy Mayor and US Attorney was asked by a caller if she signed the anti-tax pledge demanded of Republican candidates by anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist.  Brooks surprised saying that she hadn’t. And that she’d made no pledges of any kind during her campaign.  Brooks talked about taxes, the budget deficit and the ec0nomy in her interview with Amos and listeners.  Brooks hopes to succeed retiring Cong. Dan Burton in the newly drawn district.  The district includes all of Hamilton County, some of Boone County, Madison and five other counties, including the northern 20% of Marion County. Among the Indy neighborhoods included in the new 5th District is Broad Ripple, Meridian-Kessler, Castleon, Nora, Keystone at the Crossing and Geist.
