The Indiana Fever’s Tamika Catchings has made the WNBA’s All-Star team seven times, and she was its most valuable player in 2011. She’s also a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist.

Her list of achievements keeps growing.

Catchings –who, along with her team, are just two games away from their first WNBA Championship — is getting a day in her honor in the city of Indianapolis next week.

The city proclamation, signed by Mayor Greg Ballard, declares Oct. 27 “Tamika Catchings Day.”
