When ninth grader Taheim Hart robbed a Bronx, N.Y., bank on Tuesday afternoon, a dye pack that was with the bills he stole literally blew up in his face, reports the New York Post.

The 15-year-old baby-faced boy entered the Amalgamated Bank branch in the Co-op City section of the Bronx at around 2:40 p.m.
Hart allegedly presented a note to a bank teller informing her of a bomb he had in his possession.
The teller strategically placed bills in a bag and also managed to place a red dye pack between the money. She then handed the money over to Hart.
When Hart took off with the bag of money, $1,000 in cash, seconds later, the dye pack detonated and red dye exploded all over him and the bills. New York’s finest appeared within minutes, and according to a nearby shop owner, Seisung Kim, who spoke to the New York Post, “Police officers ran over quickly and started picking up all the red bills.”
A veteran police officer told the New York Post that young people who attempt to rob banks are a rare breed indeed.
Kim summed up Hart’s botched robbery best by stating, “These kids today are so stupid. How did he think he could get away with robbing a bank? The teller was very smart to do what she did.”
