Chief Hite Confirmed

Though they’ve been doing the job for sometime now, Police Chief Rick Hite and Public Safety Director Troy Riggs received a thumbs up at last night’s confirmation hearing before the city county council. But the two were more focused on the two teenagers accused of being involved in Wednesday’s crime spree across Indianapolis. Hite and Riggs are joining faith based organizations to combat the problem…that seems to a pattern.

Two Teen Facing Murder Charge

In the meantime the 15 and 17 year olds are facing serious charges for gunning down John Yingling as he sat in his truck talking to his wife on his cell phone yesterday The teens then shot a man walking his dog on the northwest side and led police on a high speed chase that ended by crashing three vehicles in Brownsburg.

Two Dead in Greenwood

A Dodge truck drove right through the front door of a home in Greenwood and the driver killed his estranged wife’s boyfriend and then himself. The names of the victims have not been released yet.

Improved Mass Transit

Marion and Hamilton counties could be getting improved mass transit. The House Ways and Means Committee voted 20-to-2 Wednesday night to let voters decide through a referendum whether to pay an increased local income tax to fund the transit expansion plan. The legislation now goes to the full House.

Toddler Tipsy?

A one-year-old girl is recovering after drinking mouthwash. The toddler was hospitalized Wednesday with a blood alcohol content of point-018. The child was reportedly being watched by a 17-year-old when she got a hold of the mouthwash bottle.
