Winter Storm to Arrive this Evening

Road crews are already preparing for the winter storm expected to hit Indianapolis tonight. INDOT spent yesterday pre-treating the roads and plow truck drivers are on standby to work overtime. Weather forecasters say snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain by 11 p.m. tonight.

IMPD Investigating Possible Murder-Suicide

IMPD is investigating a possible murder-suicide. Police say they were called to a home on Priscilla Avenue Wednesday night and when they arrived, found two people dead. Officials say they don’t believe there is anything “suspicious” about the incident and don’t believe anyone else was involved.

Seperate Trials for South Side Explosion Suspects Sought

Two of the people charged in connection with last year’s Richmond Hill subdivision explosion want to be tried separately. Monserrate Shirley, her boyfriend Mark Leonard and his brother Bob Leonard, Junior are currently listed as co-defendants, but attorneys for Shirley and Mark Leonard want their clients to be tried independently. Prosecutors say they think the three acted together so they should be tried together.

Vectren Warning Customers Of Scam

Vectren is warning its customers of a scam. Officials say someone claiming to be a Vectren representative is calling people and telling them their utility service will be shut off within the hour if they don’t go to a local store, purchase a pre-paid debit card and make a payment. Once the customer calls the so-called representative back with the card information, they unknowingly give them access to the debit card’s funds.

Fallen EMT Memorial Sticker Available

A memorial sticker for the two fallen Indianapolis EMTs is now available. The stickers are free and can be picked up at the Sullivan Hardware and Garden on Keystone Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue. A public memorial was held yesterday for Private Tim McCormick and Specialist Cody Medley, who were killed in a weekend ambulance crash.
