McDonald’s is preparing to make some new permanent additions to its menu this spring (hm…perhaps the chicken wings they’ve been testing?) and in order to do so they’ve decided to drop a few of the least popular menu items.

The restaurant plans to eliminate its apple walnut salad as well as the Chicken Selects.

Additionally, the Angus Third Pounder, which is sold with a variety of toppings and as part of three snack wraps, will be cut.

According to a report in the Kentucky New Era, the franchisee wrote, “Sorry if one of these were your favorite … They just did not sell well enough nationally.” Stores will continue selling the three items until they run out, according to the story.
