Police Looking for Cause in Fatal Accident

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Jeep early earlier this morning near Emerson and County Line road. The jeep backed over the victim, causing serious injuries. No name on the victim and we don’t know if the driver of the jeep will face in any charges in the case.

No Charges Filed in Fatal EMT Crash

Charges will not be filed against the woman who caused a crash that killed two Indianapolis EMTs. Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry says Jade Hammer admitted to drinking before the accident, but she wasn’t impaired. Curry says Hammer was speeding and ran a red light, but called the crash a “tragic accident” and not criminal. The ambulance was also speeding at the time of the crash.

Memorial Shirts Remembering EMT’s on Sale!

Memorial shirts for the two Indianapolis EMTs killed in February are on sale. Officials from Indy Fire Rescue House say orders will be taken through March 11th and proceeds will go to the Indianapolis EMS Fund. The group is selling hoodies, long and short sleeve t-shirts, and sweatshirts.

Attention Countrywide Mortgage Holders! Check on Settlement Info!

Four-hundred-and-50 people in Indianapolis may qualify for part of a settlement reached with Countrywide Financial. U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett says if you are an African American or a Latino and applied for a Countrywide home loan between 2004 and 2008, you need to call his office immediately. The settlement was reached with the lending company after prosecutors accused them of charging minorities higher fees and interest rates than white borrowers. Call 226-6333.

Good News for Job Seekers!

Chrysler is investing millions of dollars that will bring 12-hundred jobs to Howard and Tipton counties. The automaker announced its expansion Thursday and said the plants will make eight and nine-speed transmissions. Officials hope to have everything installed in the Kokomo plants by the fourth quarter of this year and in the Tipton plant by the end of next year.
