Disturbing news for fans of the much-loved Peanuts comics and their subsequent cartoons on television: the man who provided the voice of one of the lead characters Charlie Brown has pleaded guilty to stalking charges. Oh.

According to Sky News, Peter Robbins admitted threatening and stalking both his ex-girlfriend and a plastic surgeon who gave her a breast enhancement that he paid for. The 56 year-old has apparently entered the plea in court and this means that he could now face up to three years in prison when he’s sentenced next month. Apparently the height of the tension came when Robbins would call his ex multiple times a day, telling her that he’d kill her and her son if she didn’t give back his dog and car, that he claimed he owned. It was a tactic he also tried on the plastic surgeon who he’d paid to give her breast surgery, demanding a refund in anger to the point where she moved out of her house fearing for her life. At her worst fear she hired an armed guard to stand outside her clinic.

Robbins voiced Charlie Brown for 1965’s A Charlie Brown Christmas and 1966’s It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The comic strip was adored worldwide, running from 1950 to 2000, read by 355 million people globally at its peak.
