They have both been castigated on occasion for various reasons in national media outlets. But despite their less than stellar reputations at different points in their careers, both Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams and Basketball Wives’ Evelyn Lozada, know where to go to get soul food.
“Soooooo glad I finally met @EvelynLozada today! Yep…..at church!” tweeted Williams, who will soon share something else in common with the Latina celebrity: her own reality show, “My Sister’s Keeper.”
“Absolutely beautiful mama! Love you!!!” continued Williams, whose show will follow her and her sisters, leading up to her comeback gospel album release.
Recently, the saved and secular singer has been catching tons of flak for going back and forth between Christian and non-Christian music genres, but maintains that her commitment to Christ is rock solid.
“LuvU! See u this week#Dinner,” replied Lozada, intimating that the two plan to get better acquainted over a bite to eat. Perhaps the veteran reality diva and author can share some insights with Williams to help her avoid making damaging missteps in the public eye.
Lozada has been working to repair her image and life since appearing on a special 2-part episode of OWN’s “Iyanla Fix My Life” last fall. Prior to a scary wakeup call, the single mother’s life had spun completely out of control. Violent outbursts, cussing tirades, and gross mistreatment of fellow Basketball Wives cast mates led to public outcries against Lozada and the volatile VH1 show.
Then, her 41-day marriage to NFL player, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, abruptly ended due to a domestic violence incident in August 2011, leaving the controversial celeb groping to put the shattered pieces of her world back together again.
But now, Lozada seems to be trying to put all the drama and bad behavior behind her, and move beyond past mistakes.
“Church was great today!” she shared with her Twitter followers, adding, “You have 2 learn to forgive those who hurt u. Holding on to anger & hate only takes away from ur true purpose.”
