In his only public interview, Anchor Todd Wallace gave an exclusive interview to Afternoons with Amos to explain why he no longer anchors WRTV/Channel 6 newscasts. Wallace, the first African-American male to anchor weekday primetime newscasts in over fifteen years, explained that the station made “a business decision” and elected not to renew his contract which expires the end of the month. In the interview which you can hear above, Todd Wallace expressed his thanks to those who watched his newscasts on Channel 6 the past three years. Wallace is proud of his work at the station and proud of working with his co-anchor Trisha Shepherd, meterologist Kevin Gregory, sportscaster Greg Furst and the rest of the 6News team. Wallace, who is now a free agent, has received calls and e-mails about job opportunities. But he also admits he and his family have fallen in love with Indianapolis and they hope they can stay here.
