Get ready to pack some patience! Traffic on one of the heaviest traveled areas downtown will come to a stop this fall.  INDOT says I-65 and I-70 between the north and south splits will be closed for as long as three-months while crews increase the clearance under seven bridges.  Construction is expected to begin in late August or early September.

 

Possible Tornado Touchdown In Western Indiana

Emergency management officials in Lawrence County received unconfirmed reports of a possible tornado touchdown yesterday afternoon.

The National Weather Service reported wind gusts near 70 mph in the area… and Lawrence County officials confirmed trees and power lines were down and a great deal of flash flooding

Water was reported to have covered lanes of traffic in Terre Haute. In some areas, the water was almost over the curbs.

 

Larry Bird To Return To The Pacers

After exactly 1 year away from the team, Larry Bird will return to the Pacers next week.

Bird will rejoin the team as President of Basketball Operations, the same position he held from 2003 to June 2012. Bird signed a multi-year deal with the Pacers, but the terms of the contract will not be disclosed.

 

2-Year-Old Drowns In Pool

A 2-year-old boy died early this morning after he was pulled from a pool in northern Morgan County.

Damon Nicely was rushed to St. Francis Hospital after he was pulled from his grandmother’s pool in Mooresville. His father, said his son fell in the pool and by the time someone noticed, it was too late. Officials later confirmed the child had drowned.
