From the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s speech to the Christian Soul-Jazz band Seawind in song, the spiritual tenets of being “free” have rung loud and clear in the ears of those who know and love The Lord. Now a uniquely gifted Soul-Pop vocal ensemble of on-fire young singers/songwriters and producers have taken up that torch and made it their very name, harkening back to the root of the word in its Portuguese origin. The name of this dynamic new group is Livré (pronounced Liv-Ray) as is the name of their outstanding debut CD on Glory 2 Glory Records spearheaded by J. Conrad Robinson — Livré passionately aims to not only fire up the souls of true believers but to win the souls of young people unacquainted with Christ or hiding from Him without reason. From their sound to their look to the choreography they bring to the stage, Livre’ brings a spirited vibe totally in sync with their peer group on the street.

Livre is comprised of members Ajanee Hambrick, Ariel Malloy, Malik Spence, Kenneth Williams, and Richard Tolbery – five unique individuals with a shared passion to “fire up the souls of true believers” and “win the souls of young people unacquainted with Christ or hiding from Him without reason.”

For the past three and half years they have been building an army of followers in the tn-state area by sharing church and concert stages with some of the brightest names in Contemporary Christian Music, and accompanying the likes of Hezekiah Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp and Israel Houghton who is featured on Free. They also worked with Grammy Award winning singer/songstress Alicia Keys singing on “How it Feels to Fly” on her latest album, The Element of Freedom. Now the time has come for them to emerge triumphant with their debut CD filled inspiring and multifaceted songs that span the spectrum of styles across the radio dial — from the electrifying “Victory,”“I Will Be Alright” and “Happiness” to the soul-stirring first single “Me To You”, produced by David “Swagg” Harris.

Livre’ was born on a blessed Sunday morning during a praise and worship session at Family Baptist Church. Though they each belonged to different churches it was a family affair style friendship that brought them all into the same house of worship that morning. They are all sons and daughters of preachers who once sang in the Bronx Mass Choir. Their voices blended so beautifully and naturally that morning after only one rehearsal it was suggested that they form a group. Each member has contributed to the conception of Livre’- a scintillating blend of modern gospel, techno pop and crossover soul.

As a unified force, Livré will rock the Contemporary Christian and pop music worlds to their foundations with their awesome sound and songs. It’s their lane, their time and their season!
