Arrest Made In July 4th Shooting

An arrest has made in connection with the July 4 fatal shooting of 16 year old Monquize Edwards outside Circle Center Mall.

18 year old, Eron Bonner, is being held without bond at The Marion County jail on unlawful possession of a firearm and murder charges.

Police said, Bonner does have a previous arrest record and Investigators are also looking into a possible gang connection. (Photo Courtesy: WXIN-TV)

 

Detectives Looking For Murder Suspect

Detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate a suspect wanted in connection with a June 28 fatal shooting.

22 year old Keith Brown, was identified by IMPD officials as a suspect in the death of 37-year-old Jimmy Fesler who was shot and killed at an apartment complex in the Fountain Square neighborhood.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).

 

Man Found Dead After Police Standoff

A man wanted on a felony warrant was found dead in a crawl space after a standoff with Elwood police.

Officers were serving the warrant around 9:30 last night, when they heard a gunshot.

Officers left the home, set up a perimeter and called in The Madison County SWAT Team.

Officers later found the suspect dead in the home’s crawl space.

Police have not yet released the identity of the man or information about his cause of death.

 

IMPD Chief Receives Black Expo Honor

IMPD Chief Rick Hite is being honored for his service to the community.  Last night during Indiana Black Expo’s Annual Worship Service, Hite received the “Putting Your Faith On The Line Award.”  Since being appointed as chief, Hite has been committed to ending violence in the Indianapolis.

 

Body Found On East Side Identified

 

We start with an update to a story we first broke on our 106.7 Twitter Page, after A body was found on the east side yesterday morning.

That victim has been identified as 24-year-old Robert Shorter of Indianapolis.

Initial reports said Shorter was found in a creek, but he was actually on a sidewalk behind a vacant townhome. The groundskeeper at the complex found his body while he was landscaping.

Police said there was a lot of blood coming from the victim’s head, but they don’t know whether or not he was shot.
