Father Charged With Daughter’s Murder

An Indianapolis father faces charges of murder after his 1-year-old daughter was found not breathing last week on the city’s east side.

The 1-year-old girl was taken to Methodist Hospital where she was pronounced dead soon after arriving to the hospital.

25 year old, Wayne Bradshaw, was in the home at the time and told police that his daughter had fallen and was not breathing.

He was initially held in the Marion County Jail on a charge of battery, but RTV6 reports IMPD officials said yesterday that Bradshaw was facing charges of murder in the case.

 

Carmel House Heavily Damaged In Overnight Fire 

Fire caused heavy damage to a home in Carmel early this morning.

Around 2 a.m., fire crews were called to the 13,000 block of Versailles Drive on reports of a residential fire.

Carmel firefighters said the fire burned half of the home and melted the siding on the remainder.

The family inside the home was able to escape without any injuries.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

 

Downtown’s Mass Ave To Be Renovated

 

A plan to renovate a downtown section of Mass Avenue is getting the green light.  The 48-million-dollar project includes 235-apartments and 40-thousand-square-feet of retail space.  Fire Station Number Seven, the Indianapolis Fire Department Headquarters and the Red Cross headquarters will be moved.  Construction is expected to start in early 2014 and wrap up in about 18-months.
