Walmart Back Open After Gas Leak
The Westfield Walmart is open again following a gas leak.  The store was evacuated Monday night because of a ruptured pipe.  Employees at Rack Room Shoes and Five Below were also evacuated as a precaution.
Muncie Woman Facing Charges In Cousin’s Death
A Muncie woman now faces a murder charge in connection with the death of her 5-year-old Haitian cousin.
Delaware County prosecutors filed the charge yesterday against 30-year-old Charlene Tabb alleging she directly participated in the June 22nd death of Marie Pierre. Authorities have said the girl was repeatedly beaten in the weeks before she died.

The Star Press reports additional battery charges were filed against Tabb and her husband Marcus, alleging other children in her home were beaten, including siblings who also are accused of abusing the 5 year old girl.
Heroin On The Rise In Indy
A report by RTV6 says Heroin has made a big comeback in Indianapolis.
Because of the city’s intersecting network of interstates, IMPD says that Indianapolis has become the heroin hub for the Mexican drug cartels.
Officers with IMPD have found a strong link between heroin use and the city’s crime rate.

IPS Enrollment Rates Nearly Holding Steady
IPS is optimistic about this year’s enrollment numbers.  After several years of large declines, school officials are expecting only a minor loss for the 2013-2014 academic year.  Indianapolis Public Schools lost 30-million dollars of funding last year because of lower enrollment.
