3 From Indiana Killed In Texas Crash

Investigators say three people from Indiana have been killed and several others were hurt in a pickup truck rollover accident on Interstate 30 in Northeast Texas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety officials told TV station KSLA that seven people were in the vehicle and the driver may have fallen asleep then woke up and overcorrected the vehicle.

DPS says three people were dead at the scene. Several others were injured and transported to hospitals.

One of the dead, a 12-year-old boy was a set to start 7th grade in student Wayne Township.

 

Glenda Ritz To Address ISTEP & Bennett Controversies 

The State Board of Education are preparing to discuss two major issues today that could affect thousands of Hoosier students.

Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz is expected to give updates on the state’s grading system and problems surrounding glitches with ISTEP testing.

Ritz is also expected to address the controversy surrounding former State School Superintendent Tony Bennett, who recently resigned from a similar position he held in Florida after allegations that he changed the grade of a charter school run by a major Republican donor during his tenure here in Indiana.

 

Pacers On National TV 17 Times During Upcoming Season

The Indiana Pacers will appear on national television 17 times during their upcoming season.  The Pacers’ first home game is scheduled for October 29th against former IU star Victor Oladipo and the Orlando Magic.  Former IU player Cody Zeller will be at Bankers Life Fieldhouse with Charlotte on December 13th, while former Butler head coach Brad Stevens will be there with the Celtics on December 22nd and March 11th.
