Tony Dungy, who endeared himself to Indianapolis not only by leading the Indianapolis Colts to two Super Bowls, but in demonstrating his Faith and Devotion to his God in everything he does, returned to Indianapolis to help relaunch an effort to help low income families with children not fall behind in education.  Coach Dungy, in cooperation with his Dungy Family Foundation, is working with Comcast Corporation to promote Internet Essentials, a Comcast effort to provide real low cost, quality internet access and service. Coach Dungy came to one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods, Mars Hill, to the LeGore Boys and Girls Club to talk about Internet Essentials at a meeting of Indianapolis community leaders.  Joining Coach Dungy was Comcast’s Executive Vice President David Cohen.  In an exclusive radio interview on Afternoons with Amos, Coach Dungy and Cohen talked about the critical service that Internet Essentials provides. The service is for families with children who would qualify under the income guidelines for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program. The family has to live within Comcast’s service area and have not been a Comcast customer in the previous 90 days and not have any outstanding Comcast bill or unreturned equipment.  Also during the interview, Comcast’s David Cohen talked about his company’s many entertainment services from the NBC Network to the upcoming movie The Best Man Holiday. Amos also talked with Coach Dungy about the hazing and bullying scandal involving white and Black Miami Dolphin players, the Colts season and a special surprise that occurred while he visited his hometown middle school in Jackson, Michigan. Also on this special Afternoons with Amos, we got reaction to Comcast’s Internet Essentials program from Indianapolis Urban League President Joe Slash; Urban Leagues across the country work with Comcast to spread the word about the program. City-County Council President Maggie Lewis and St Rep. Cherrish Pryor talked about the benefit of the program to their constituents.  Rep. Andre Carson told listeners of the critical need to reduce the digital divide between low income and middle and upper income households. Rep. Carson also spoke to the community leaders in attendance.  For more info on Comcast Internet Essentials, Call 1-855-846-8376 OR Click This Link.  Link To Comcast Internet Essentials
