Child Collapses in Snow on Indy’s Southside

Emergency crews responded Monday morning to a call for help involving a child. The call came from the 5000 block of Turtle Creek Court on the city’s southside. According to Fox 59, there, a child was found unresponsive in the snow near an apartment complex. Apparently a passerby saw the student collapse while walking to the bus stop and called 911. The child has been taken to an area hospital and the condition is unknown at this time.  Authorities say the child suffers from seizures and believe the incident may have been related to a previous medical issue.

Three-Year-Old Dies From Gunshot to Head

A 3-year-old child has died after apparently shooting himself in the head Saturday night in a home in the 1800  block of East. 68th Street. According to media reports, the child, whose name has not been released, was reaching for a cup of chocolate milk on a counter when his hands landed on the weapon shooting himself. He was transported to Riley Children’s Hospital where he later died. The victim’s parents and sister were home during the time of the shooting. IMPD Homicide Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident.

Noblesville Teen Shot & Killed; Arrest Made

Noblesville Police and Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at a Noblesville home in the 8200 block of River Run Place just before 11:30 Sunday night finding four people inside the home and the victim unresponsive. Sixteen-year-old Aubrey Peters had been shot in the chest.  The Noblesville High School student was taken to St. Vincent Hospital where she later died.  After police continued their investigation, early Monday morning, they arrested 20-year-old Jacob McDaniel on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and pointing a firearm.

Former Principal Accused Of Child Sex Crimes

A former Frankfort Middle School principal is facing charges in connection to a multi-state child sex crimes case.  Prosecutors say Michael Ettenberger participated in online solicitation of sexually abusive material.  Ettenberger resigned

from his job in June for personal reasons.

Hancock County Coroner Accused Of Theft

The Hancock County Coroner is accused of stealing from Walmart. The Greenfield Police Department says Crystel Myers was arrested Friday for taking a PlayStation Three, an Xbox 360 and a Nintendo DS.  The items were recovered from her home.

Hundreds of Hoosiers Gather to Remember Mandela 

In a memorial ceremony held in the chambers of the Indiana Statehouse Sunday, there was a lot of talk about Mandela’s grace, his leadership and ability to forgive. According The Indianapolis Star, the Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis and the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus joined the global call for prayer and remembrance for the anti-apartheid leader and father of a nation who died last week at age 95.  World memorial services will be held for him in Johannesburg on Tuesday.  President Obama is leading a delegation of U.S. Presidents.

Pacers Suffer a “Thunderous” Loss

The Pacers’ not so lengthy winning streak is over again. They lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder on last night 118-94. The Pacers are now 18-and-3 this year.  They host the Heat at Bankers Life Fieldhouse Tuesday night.

The Colts Take a Loss But Win Big

Andrew Luck threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns but the Colts still suffered a 42-28 loss to the

Bengals in Cincinnati Sunday.  Now, despite that loss, the Colts are still AFC South champions. The Colts clinched the

division after the Titans fell to the Broncos in Sunday play. At 8-and-5, the Colts are currently the fourth seed in the AFC playoff picture and they’re guaranteed to host a playoff game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
