Arrest Made in Double Murder

Police think they have their man for the Westfield double murder.  Police arrested 20-year-old Christian Rene Haley of Indianapolis on Thursday for the home invasion murders of a Westfield mother and daughter. Haley (seen on the left in this Westfield police booking photo) is now charged with two counts each of murder and of felony murder, one felony count each of robbery and burglary and one count of theft.  He allegedly beat the women to death.

Haley is not the same man identified as a “person of interest” earlier this week and who is seen entering a store on surveillance camera (photo on the right). Police also report the victims were not randomly selected. They say Haley’s was a former employee of the Erb family’s landscaping company and that was his connection to the victims. He is in the Hamilton County Jail.

Marylyn and Kelley Erb will be laid to rest on Friday.  Their funeral begins at 1 p.m. in Noblesville at the Central Auditorium of Grace Church.
