SNAP Pay Dates Changing January 1st
More than 900-thousand Hoosiers who are on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as SNAP will get their benefits on a new day starting January 1st. Officials say the date will be determined by the first letter of their last name. Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration (F.S.S.A.) says “food stamp” benefits will be delivered to the Hoosier Works Electronic Benefits Transfer (E.B.T.) cards in two installments in January to keep people from having to wait until late in the month to receive their money so they can feed their families.
This one-month transition period will give more time to recipients to plan ahead for the following month. The entire SNAP benefit will be delivered on the new date in February. For more info click [HERE].
