Lionsgate Releases The Joel Kapity Film ‘DREAMS’ On DVD
Chicago, IL — Joel Kapity‘s film “DREAMS” is coming out on DVD on January 28th. The announcement was just made by Lionsgate Home Entertainment. “DREAMS” is a captivating look inside the journey of four dreamers; a dancer, a singer, an ex-boxer, and a rapper, who are all tied together by life’s most common thread: the past.
Starring Grammy nominated Angie Stone, members of the Grammy wining Gospel family, Vickie Winans and Marvin L Winans, Jr., professional dancer Marchello Lee, boxing trainer Joseph Awinongya, R&B singer J’SON, and “American Idol’s” Syesha Mercado, Director Joel Kapity interweaves powerful stories of inner city life as Chicago residents fight to overcome difficult circumstances.
Mia (Mercado) dreams of singing, Quentin (Lee) dreams of dancing, Paalo (Awinongya) dreams of mending his relationship with his daughter and Alonzo (J’SON) dreams of reconnecting with his family. But fragments of abuse and failures from their broken past, make the trek up life’s hills hard to climb.
The soon to be released DVD movie questions if they’ll be impeded by life’s difficulties or use the obstacles as stepping stones to achieve their dreams.
Kapity also made real-life dreams come true, by bringing Hollywood to the urban city and offering local Chicago performers and filmmakers to participate in the films production.

“DREAMS” premiered in 2011 and is Kapity’s sophomore film. In 2010 he directed “Blessed and Cursed.”
Rooted in themes of forgiveness and passion, “DREAMS” is sure to inspire us all to become something bigger than ourselves.
