TMZ has reported that James Avery, most known for his role as “Phillip Banks” on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has died at the age of 65.
TMZ was told by Avery’s wife Barbara that he had been at his bedside but left for a short period of time to get something to eat. When she came back, she learned he had just died.
James Avery’s role as Uncle Phil was one of the most popular and polarizing figures as the “Black TV Dad” in the post Cosby Era. Prayer are with his family and friends.
