Senator Mike Delph is being punished for criticizing the senate leadership’s handling of the proposed amendment to ban gay marriage in Indiana. Delph will reportedly lose his leadership position as the Senate’s Assistant Majority Floor Leader of Communications, along with his title as ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and his press secretary, and will be re-assigned to a new seat in the Senate chamber. If you’ll recall, Delph criticized fellow Republicans last week for not restoring the controversial second sentence that would have banned civil unions. This despite the fact that Delph has a brother who is gay.
