Queens churchgoers in the middle of Sunday morning services at Rev. Floyd Flake‘s Jamaica church had to be evacuated after an anonymous caller said a bomb had been placed inside, police said.

The man, who called the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York, located on Merrick Boulevard, during the 9:26 a.m. church service, said that the device was set to explode in 60 minutes, police said.

The cathedral, where Flake, former U.S. Congressman, serves as the senior pastor, was evacuated.

Police said that the call was made from a pay phone across the street from the church.

According to the NYPD, no bomb had been found and no one had been arrested as of Monday.

The church kept parishioners informed via Twitter and Facebook.

Praise God!! The sanctuary is secure and we WILL worship in the cathedral sanctuary for our 11:15am worship service!!,” the church tweeted.

The church did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment.
