Murder-Suicide Leaves Police Department in Grief

    A murder-suicide claimed the lives of two Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers on Thursday evening. The murdered officer is 20-year veteran, Officer Kimberlee Carmack. IMPD investigators say her estranged husband Sergeant Ryan Anders shot and killed her after forcing his way into the rear of the home in the 2400 block of Inishmore Court. SWAT teams and responding officers said after Anders killed Carmack, he then used the gun on himself. This is a developing story. IMPD will address the media on Friday at 11:30 a.m. to answer questions about the investigation and reveal further details about the nature of this estranged couple’s contentious relationship.
