WP_20140422_14_26_10_Pro (1)Here in Indianapolis, Indiana and many other places in the country, Republicans have been pushing back and rolling back voting rights.  Instead of making it easier and more convenient for people to vote, they’re making it harder.  Here in Indianapolis/Marion County, the Marion County Republican Party has led the charge to restrict early voting. To limit early voting locations to just downtown at the City-County Building and to openly reject ideas to make voting simpler and easier.  Jocelyn Tandy-Adande is one of two Republicans running for Marion County Clerk.  Tandy-Adande appeared on Afternoons with Amos to explain why she’s running.  Tandy-Adande told Amos and listeners than though a Republican, she supports early voting and said that the voting process should be easier and more convenient. Including longer hours on election day.  Tandy-Adande also stressed the integrity of the voting process and that both parties should work together to make voting free from any problems.  Tandy-Adande also said if elected she would work to streamline the process the County Clerk uses to get child support payments credit to responsible dads who’re paying and the funds to the responsible moms who need it for their children.  Tandy-Adande, a veteran of local politics, who was once a staunch Democrat but switched to the Republican Party several years ago, also said she was the one true independent Republican in the race. She said she hadn’t seen her opponent out in the community campaigning for the Clerk’s position. Afternoons with Amos invited the other Republican candidate in the primary for County Clerk Christine Bischoff to appear, but she didn’t respond to the invitation.  Click the Arrow to Hear Amos’ Interview with Jocelyn Tandy-Adande.
