At the “Dominion Word Conference” in Lagos, Nigeria, Bishop Tudor Bismark, pastor of New Life Covenant Church in Harare, Zimbabwe prophesied that “God will raise up in Nigeria and Africa…shepherds after his own heart who will teach the people and feed them knowledge and understanding.”

Among thousands gathered at The Rock Cathedral, there is a palpable hunger for God’s presence and wisdom in the air—something attendees are praying will be satisfied through the preached word and worship.

Both Donnie McClurkin and Micah Stampley, representing the United States, have been tapped to minister in song at the Friday, April 26th “Dominion Worship Concert,” which features worshipers from various tribes and nations.

Organizers of the event stress that it is not a time of mundane and commonplace church as usual, but is about “raising an army of indomitable worshippers who will kiss the heavens and change the earth, trailblazers, phenomenal achievers, people with an understanding of the time and season, who will raise God up so he will draw the society, the nations and the earth to God, The Almighty, The King of creation.”

Both the preached and demonstrated gospel is much-needed in this region to give hope to suffering poor, which make up roughly 70 percent of the population.

Lagos, as the New York Times describes it, is a “crowded megalopolis of high rises, filthy lagoons, fierce traffic jams and sprawling slums,” and is “home to perhaps 21 million people.”

The harvest is indeed plentious.
