WP_20140428_14_00_37_Pro (1)Mark Brown is challenging incumbent Marion County Sheriff John Layton in next week’s Democratic primary.  Brown, no relation, appeared on Afternoons with Amos to talk about his campaign to be the next Marion County Sheriff.  Mark Brown said if elected he’d put focus on the Sheriff deputies getting our following up on arrest warrants or criminal suspects and civil matters.  Brown said there’s more that the Sheriff can do to fight the rising level of crime and violence in Indianapolis. Asked by callers about an issue of sheriff’s deputies paying money to gain promotions, Mark Brown said he would end that practice. Brown didn’t fully agree with the opposed location of the a new Marion County Jail on the old General Motors plant along the White River just west of downtown. But Brown said he was concerned about recent escape attempts at the Jail.  Click the Arrow to Hear Amos’ Interview with Mark Brown, candidate in the Democratic Primary for Sheriff.
