A pick-up truck crashed into and killed two construction workers on Interstate-69 Friday morning. This fatal crash occurred in an early morning work zone between 82nd Street and 96th Street on the left side of the south-bound lanes. That truck was driven by Jordan Staffer, 22, of Fortville, according to Indiana State Police. The workers were preparing to end their work shift around 5:45 a.m. when they were struck and killed. The victim’s identities have not been released to the media, pending family notification. Staffer has been taken to an area hospital for treatment for minor injuries. The investigation into the cause of this crash is ongoing. Due to this accident major back-ups and delays occurred during the morning drive time hours to work on I-69.
