What makes a GOOD MOTHER? What Makes a SUCCESSFUL MOTHER? Afternoons with Amos listeners flooded the program with their ideas and examples of what makes a good and successful mother. In Honor of Mother’s Day, Amos asked listeners to weigh in with suggestions on successful mothering. With nearly two-thirds of all births in the Indianapolis Black community are to mothers aged 20 to 29; and with less than 4% of all births occurring to mothers under eighteen, being a mom in Indianapolis is increasingly a job for women in their twenties. Afternoons with Amos decided to have the audience and community weigh in with examples of good and successful mothering. And the suggestions were across the board with LOVE, PATIENCE, LOVE OF GOD, FIRMNESS among the top qualities mentioned. Listen to listeners share stories of their Mothers and how their were raised, and stories of how today’s moms and grandmothers are raising their children. The stories and comments will inspire you, encourage you. Some of the stories and comments will make you laugh our loud, but they carry great wisdom and truth.
