Blue Indy Electric Car...credit WTHR

Have you been hearing about electric cars and were curious? Well, a new fleet of plug-ins are rolling into Indy.  These four-seater cars with ‘Blue Indy’ in bold letters on the side and the city’s logo on the hood are part of the city’s new electric car share program. Unrolling this program coincides with a consumer show and meeting that is being held in the Circle City for the first time. The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) is showing off their latest innovations at the annual meeting which is usually held in Washington DC.

As a part of the overall event, the organization is also holding the  2014 EDTA Ride, Drive & Charge. Industry decision-makers and consumers are coming together to experience the latest electric vehicle innovations firsthand. You can participate along with the convention delegates. On any day during showcase hours, you can test drive a vehicle of your choice through the downtown area on the 1.14-mile route on Georgia Street and around Monument Circle. The event is FREE and you don’t have to register. Ride, Drive and Charge runs through Wednesday, May 21.
