This weekend is Father’s Day weekend. Here are some things to do with dear ol’ dad in Indy.

Starting Friday, June 13, and running through Saturday, June 14, you can enjoy more than 25 different pastas, Italian meats, desserts and more at a delicious celebration of Italian culture downtown at the Italian Street Festival. The festival is held at the corner of East and Stevens Streets.

On Saturday, June 14, be inspired to help the dad in your life with his health. Eskenazi Health Center–Blackburn at 2700  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street is holding their 16th annual Men’s Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m  There will be free health screenings offered (including diabetes, cholesterol, HIV, prostate, dental and more). Men can get their questions answered and ladies will be seen too.

On Saturday, June 14, The Circle City Pride Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year at the American Legion Mall. Programming for the festival includes live performances, vendors and more, and is intended for all ages. Organizers tell us the Circle City Pride Festival Parade known officially as the “Cadillac Barbie Pride Parade” has grown larger than the 500 Festival Parade in recent years.

On Saturday, June 14 and running until 6 p.m on Sunday, June 15, more than 270 artists from across the nation will gather on the north side of downtown Indy in the Herron-Morton historical district for the Talbot Street Art Fair. This two-day art fair  is continually ranked as one of the top art fairs in the U.S. This fair also features entertainment, food and exhibits for all ages to enjoy.

Running through Sunday, June 15, Chow Down Midtown is still going strong. A dining event where attendees will be able to experience fare from about 40 local restaurants in the Midtown area of the city bordering 65th Street on the north, Fall Creek Parkway on the south, Illinois Street to the west and Keystone Avenue to the east. It’s a call to sample some of the best cuisine the city has to offer.

On Sunday, your favorite house of worship awaits you for fellowship and praise. (Saturday as well for some denominations.)

Chill at home paying tribute to the late actress and civil rights activist Ruby Dee (and her hubby, the late-Ossie Davis). Watch Dee and Davis in some of their more popular films on DVD: Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” and a classic starring Dee along side Sidney Poitier in “A Raisin in the Sun“. Dee died on Thursday at age 91.

And finally, the San Antonio Spurs followed up a record-setting performance with another dominant outing Thursday night.  They got ‘er done with a 107-86 win over the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Spurs now lead the series 3-to-1 over the Heat and are just one game away from being crowned the 2014 NBA Champions. Game 5 is Sunday, June 15, at 8 p.m. Could make for an exciting Father’s Day evening.
