MUST SEE VIDEO. SENIOR CITIZENS NEAR IUPUI AT RISK! Paca Street in the Indiana Avenue/Ransom Place neighborhood just north of the Walker Theater downtown is a quiet residential street. But many senior citizens and IUPUI students living in the area have problems try to cross busy West 10th Street to shop at a local convenience store or eat at local restaurants.  The seniors citizens especially have trouble crossing busy 10th Street where cars on their way to the Interstate 65 & 70 from IUPUI and the many hospitals in the area, whiz by at speeds 15/25 miles an hour faster than the posted speed limit.  The You Tube video shown above was created by a community activist to showcase the danger to seniors citizens and others in the neighborhood.  City officials so far have REFUSED to take steps to create a safe, marked crosswalk with a warning light.  IMPD doesn’t have enough police officers to place radar patrols to slow down traffic. The City has REFUSED to place a speed monitor on the street that would flash a vehicle’s speed and might encourage them to slow down.  The area has become highly dangerous for our senior citizens and others to safely cross the street.  Must someone get seriously hurt or killed before the City will do something?
