Onlookers surround the scene of a standoff between deputies and a man accused of killing six people, including four kids (Danny Mata, NEWS 92 FM)

(SPRING, TX) — Six people are dead, including four children, following a shooting in a Spring neighborhood.

When Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office deputies arrived at the scene Wednesday evening in the 700 block of Leaflet Lane in the Enchanted Oaks neighborhood, they found two adults and three children dead.

Another child and a woman were both transported via Life Flight to an area hospital, deputies said. The child died. The woman was in critical condition.

Before the woman was taken into surgery, deputies said she identified the shooter and warned them that he was on his way to shoot more members of the family.

Reports indicate the shooter led deputies on a high-speed chase and was cornered in a cul-de-sac.

After a three-hour standoff with Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies, he reportedly surrendered.
