Stress may be a key risk factor for women when it comes to weight gain

This may be of particular interest to you if you eat fast food regularly. Stress could be the thing that’s causing you to pack on the pounds after you’ve eaten the wrong thing on-the-run.

Researchers at the Ohio State University found women who are stressed either at home or in their jobs have slower metabolism. That slowdown could translate to women gaining nearly eleven pounds in a year.  The researchers found stressed study participants burned about 100 fewer calories than non-stressed women after eating a high-fat meal. The study was published in the journal “Biological Psychiatry.”  Check out the study called, Daily Stressors, Past Depression, and Metabolic Responses to High-Fat Meals: A Novel Path to Obesity for yourself.
