Marvel has some big changes in store for Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man. While their corporate siblings over at Marvel Studios prepare to reunite the Big Three onscreen in next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel Comics will debut radical new looks for the three most iconic Avengers.

in November comes All-New Captain America #1. As has been hinted elsewhere, Steve Rogers will find himself unable to take up the mantle of Captain America, leaving someone else to put on the stars and stripes in his place. Because the new Cap appears to be African-American, most experts think it will be Sam Wilson, a.k.a. the Falcon, Cap’s friend and longtime partner. The Colbert Report has confirmed that Sam Wilson will be the new Captain America. Go, Captain Falcmerica, go!

Thor will be a woman. Marvel Comics has announced the superhero will become a woman in a move to attract more female fans to the franchise. The new incarnation of Thor will be unveiled in a comic series this October. Artwork released by Marvel depicts her with long blonde hair, metal armour and a red cape. Jason Aaron, Marvel series writer, made it clear to fans the change  will not be temporary.

“This is not She-Thor. This is not Lady Thor. This is not Thorita. This is THOR. This is the THOR of the Marvel Universe. But it’s unlike any Thor we’ve ever seen before,” he said.

Beloved character Archie will die. Archie Andrews, the forever-teenaged redhead, would be dying in an upcoming issue of his comic books. The plot turn was shocking enough for a series that has focused on the stakes of everyday choices, but this week we learned more about that death: Archie would be fatally shot by an assassin targeting his friend, an openly gay senator campaigning for gun control.

In a quest to be socially conscious comic books are changing their tones, What do yu think?mIs this too far? Is it wise to make these changes? Shod they just invent new characters to deal with these things? Tell us what you think. We what to hear back.
