Intothestorm.jpgSynopsis: In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs, and courageous townspeople, “Into the Storm” throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme.

Review: The film’s opening scene may be one of the most suspenseful ones I have seen in a long time. There are a few great moments in this film. First the father character is  actually strong, smart and assertive.  Richard Armitage plays the single father, who happens to be the principal at his teenage son’s high school. His character adds a sense of anchor to a host of people who do not nor want to  make affirmative decisions. It is definite must see if you like adventure disaster films. The special effects were amazing on screen and you truly believed peril was due! Most of the action is shot in first-person video. Everyone has a camera in this movie, from the scientists to the unwitting suburban family to the hillbilly daredevils-come-storm chasers. This results in a strange morph between home movie and grade-A cinematography

The film is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense destruction and peril, and language including some sexual references.

Parents the film is a great lesson and discussion starter for forgiveness, sacrifice and selfishness. There is also a small sub discussion about learning to move on in life after tragedy. There is no gratuitous  sex or violence.
