Motown Get Ready To Celebrate Joint 55th Anniversaries

With Two Festive Fundraising Events

Benefitting The Motown Museum

Berry Gordy Jr.Warren. Michigan /PRNewswire/ — “It takes two!” Art Van Furniture and Motown, two iconic Michigan treasures, are toasting their 55th anniversaries together! As a way to celebrate the debut of the acclaimed Broadway musical at the Fisher Theatre featuring Detroit’s unmistakable sound, the retailer is hosting two back to back events. Motown founder Berry Gordy, other alumni of the record label, and Motown Museum patrons will be special guests at a dazzling Homecoming Reception at The Roostertail on Tuesday, October 21. A lavish Patrons Gala Reception for Museum patrons will also be held on Wednesday, October 22 at the Hotel St. Regis in Detroit. Both events will benefit the Motown Museum, the historic place where the Motown Sound is preserved and protected for generations to come, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

“When I heard through the grapevine that Motown was also turning 55, I knew that a collaboration to create an unforgettable celebration was signed, sealed, delivered!” said Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture. “Guests at the events will have the ultimate Motown experience while helping to preserve the historic Motown Museum.”

The Motown Homecoming Reception at The Roostertail will feature live music, grand cuisine and Motown alumni, including Motown legend Berry Gordy. The Patrons Gala Reception at the Hotel St. Regis includes a strolling supper, mingling with Motown legends, preferred or priority seats for the musical, a Motown gift bag and a Museum tour.
