Indianapolis Metro Police say that two employees of an east side fast food eatery are dead after being shot inside the business early Wednesday. That business is Jordan’s Fish & Chicken located at 21st Street and Post Road. Police were called there overnight, according to WTHR-TV, just after 1 a.m. IMPD investigators are trying to determine what time the shooting happened, but a relative told them family became suspicious when their calls to the restaurant went unanswered. They followed up, by checking in-person and that’s when a relative found the victims dead behind the counter. Those employees are described as two men in their late 30s or early 40s. Police aren’t releasing their names yet.  If you have any info on this heinous crime, call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

A former Indianapolis Public Schools counselor accused of having a sexual relationship with two students will spend six-years on home detention. Shana Taylor was sentenced on Tuesday. As part of her plea agreement, Taylor admitted to sending inappropriate photos to the students in exchange for the dismissal of child seduction charges. Taylor also won’t have to register as a sex offender as a part of her deal, but Shana Taylor agreed to relinquish her teaching license.

The first of four teens is facing charges for the post-Christmas fight at Castleton Square Mall. Prosecutors filed the charges on Tuesday. They’re not saying which charges or the accused’s name though, because of the suspect’s age. Police say the four female teens started fighting over a teenaged boy. Officers say the fight grew from there.

It’s a 20-year sentence for the man Indianapolis Metro Police say is responsible for shooting five people. A judge sentenced Dominique Stone to 15 years in prison and another five years of community corrections on Tuesday. IMPD investigators say Stone is the triggerman behind a 2015 shooting that sent two women and three children to the hospital.

An Indianapolis Walmart employee is accused of attacking a customer. IMPD says the attack happened on New Year’s Eve at the West Tenth Street location near I-465. The victim told police Michael-Candice Ingram grabbed her by her hair and punched her in the back of the head after they got into an argument over a “money gram.”

Middle class drivers here in Indiana will feel a new gas tax the most. Purdue researcher Larry DeBoer says Indiana lawmakers punched a hole in the state budget with income and inheritance tax cuts. Now, he says, lawmakers want to fill it with a gas tax for roads. DeBoer says middle class taxpayers buy more gas than they inherit money, and they will be the ones to feel the brunt of any new gas tax. Remember that gas tax kicked in on January 1.

A plan to gut the independent Office of Congressional Ethics is being scrapped. After a firestorm of controversy, House Republicans held an emergency meeting on Tuesday to remove the plan from a package of rules for the new Congress. Supporters said reigning-in the Ethics office would give lawmakers more control over internal investigations. House Republican leaders, like Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, and Democrats opposed the Ethics rules change. President-elect Donald Trump questioned the move in a Tweet.

The GOP continues their march to dismantle the Affordable Care Act with two key players expected on Capitol Hill today to work their angles. On one side, President Barack Obama is set to work with his party to preserve his signature health care bill and on the other, Vice-president-elect Mike Pence who in his role as Governor of Indiana has worked as an opponent of ‘Obamacare’ towing the Republican party line. Both sides will hold strategy meetings with their own camps with Pence set to unroll President-elect Donald Trump’s priorities. Congressional Republicans plan to move quickly to repeal the healthcare reform law, though they’ve not released any firm plan to replace it.

Charles Manson is in the hospital.  Sources say the notoriously murderous cult leader was transported from a California Prison to a hospital in Bakersfield.  State officials aren’t confirming the report, citing federal and state privacy laws.  The 82-year-old is serving nine concurrent life sentences for conspiracy to murder seven people, including heiress Abigail Folger and actress Sharon Tate who was 8-and-a-half months pregnant at the time they stabbed her to death.  Manson believed the murders would help ignite an apocalyptic race war.
