Directly addressing the community’s concerns, members of the Ten Point Coalition, appeared on Afternoons with Amos to explain why they met with Mayor Greg Ballard, Public Safety Director Dr. Frank Straub and Police Chief Paul Ciesielski. There was community criticism that the Coalition, along with white ministers, met with city officials on the same day of Rev. Al Sharpton’s Indianapolis visit. Coalition leaders Rev. Charles Ellis, Elder Lionel Rush, Rev. Clarence Moore, Rev. Mel Jackson and Rev. Bryon Alston came to the Afternoons with Amos live broadcast at Country Kitchen Restaurant to explain to the community their objectives in dealing with IMPD’s sins.
