Turkey versus ham? Cobblers versus pie? Pecan versus pumpkin?

Thanksgiving occurs every November and every year it’s the same headaches: serving a moist, fully-cooked bird, creating several side dishes that everyone will love and ending the holiday celebration with a dessert or a few that has folks talking into the new year.

Thanksgiving

(/Getty Images)This year, “Good Morning America” did the hard work for you. We put together five full-course meals using recipes from some of our most popular guests like Emeril Lagasse, Rachael Ray and Sandra Lee to save you the time and the hassle.

At the end of each rundown is a shopping list of what you’ll need from the supermarket.

Good luck!

Emeril’s Big Bird With Giblet Gravy

If you’re looking for a traditional recipe for cooking turkey with all the fixings, this may be the one for you. If you purchase a frozen turkey, you must defrost it in the refrigerator, and it can take several days to completely defrost, depending on the size of your bird. Make sure you read the instructions on the turkey packaging so that you allow yourself enough time before turkey day!

Emeril’s Sugarcane Baked Ham with Spiced Apples and Pears

This is a favorite of ABC News’ Diane Sawyer. One can never go wrong serving a holiday dinner that offers two different meats and this ham — with sugarcane, brown sugar, pears and apples — will delight everyone.

Charred String Beans with Black Bean Sauce

You could pour a can of string beans into a pan, add salt and call it a day or you could try this recipe from executive chef Michael Schulson. Schulson of the restaurant Buddakan in New York City put an Asian twist on string beans and we think it will nicely complement your holiday feast.

Emeril’s Creole Cornbread Stuffing

Emeril does Thanksgiving dishes so well that it’s hard not to include his recipes in our menu suggestions. This Creole stuffing includes his personal recipe for cornbread, Emeril’s Original Essence and andouille sausage. You’ll have everyone at your dinner table exclaiming: “Bam!”

Emeril’s Sweet Potato-Marshmallow Casserole

The bird is important but everyone knows that the side dishes can make or break a Thanksgiving feast and what would the holiday be without sweet potatoes. This casserole delivers on the sweetness using pecans, orange juice, nutmeg and marshmallows. They’re totally gonna want seconds, we assure you.
