St. Louis police say four people were shot at a funeral home in north St. Louis Tuesday afternoon. It happened at the Reliable Funeral Home in the 3900 block of Washington Avenue. Two males were shot and are in critical condition. The condition of the other two victims is unknown.

Homicide detectives are trying to determine what lead to the shooting.

Murderer Turned to Suicide

The St. Francois County coroner has confirmed four people shot in an apparent domestic dispute are dead. The coroner says a man entered a duplex style home on Boulder Drive in Bonne Terre, MO and shot a man and woman inside. Another woman was shot inside an SUV outside the home. She was taken to an area hospital where she later died.

As Police arrived on scene, a white male was seen running from the scene wearing a black jacket and running toward the highway. Bonne Terre officers confronted the man, who was armed, and told him to drop the weapon. He then took his own life.

The shooting stemmed from an apparent domestic dispute which led to the murder-suicide. The shooting happened just before 10 a.m.Tuesday.

A child inside the house and was unharmed. Another child was found unharmed inside the SUV with the female victim.

The shooting happened at an apartment duplex about a half mile from the city’s high school and a middle school. All schools were on lockdown for about an hour. Superintendent Dr. Yancy Poorman says no students were involved and all are safe.

Police are still piecing together exactly what happened, but one child was found in the doorway. Police say the victim may have been trying to protect the child.

Bonne Terre is 60 miles south of St. Louis.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Father and Son Shot

An 8 year old boy and his father were shot in north St. Louis Monday night.

Police have no information about either victim’s condition, but said the father refused treatment from paramedics. Homicide detectives were not assigned to the case, which police say usually means the victims are stable.

The shooting happened around 6:45. Police believe the pair were shot in the 2900 block of Spring, but they went to the Juvenile Detention Center, about a mile and a half away, in the 3800 block of Enright to get help. Paramedics arrived and took the child to the hospital from there.
