Kelly Vaughn is the new local voice and face of the “Tom Joyner Morning Show” on 106.7 WTLC-FM. The long-time Indianapolis Radio/TV Host & News Personality keeps commuters company on their drive into work with news and community information. You can hear Vaughn anchoring the morning newscasts weekdays during Joyner’s show at :25 and :55 after the hour from 6am-9am. Vaughn also hosts “Community Spotlight”, a 90-second interview segment hi-lighting social services and events in the Indianapolis community, airing at 8:15am and 9:15am weekday mornings. Vaughn is host and producer of “Access Indy”, a one hour Magazine show that highlights the best in business, community and lifestyle for Indianapolis, Sunday mornings, 8am-9am. She is also the Morning News Anchor for the Yolanda Adams Morning Show on 1310 The Light, WTLC-AM, 6am-9am. Vaughn is no stranger to the airwaves; she has graced the Indianapolis radio landscape for more than 20-years as co-host of two of the city’s top rated morning radio shows…”Steve & Kelly” at 107.9 WTPI and “Bernie & Kelly” at Soft Rock, B105.7. Kelly also served as News Director, Morning News Anchor and Community Affairs Director for both stations. She is one of the first African American women to head a radio news department in Indianapolis. Kelly also hosts TV’s “Inside Indy” on WHMB TV40 (Channel 9 Comcast cable). The show airs Monday nights at 11:30pm. She also serves as the station’s Community Affairs Director. Kelly has worked as Assignment Editor for FOX-59 News and hosted her own television show called “Real Women” on American Cablevision, a Bill Mays production. Kelly was named “female radio personality of the year” by Indianapolis Woman Magazine in 2005. Kelly is also a motivational speaker, event planner and founder/producer of the “Dancing with the Media Stars”, a local production modeled after the hit TV show that raises money for local charities. Kelly also operates the “HCG Diet Show”, a web based weight loss coaching service for those wanting to lose weight using the HCG protocol. Vaughn also produces voicemail greetings, commercials and serves as an emcee and motivational speaker for events. A native of Indianapolis, Kelly graduated from Broad Ripple High School and received a B.A. degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Washington in Seattle. Ms. Vaughn has received many honors for excellence in her 25-year career, including awards from Indiana Black Expo, the Indiana State Medical Association and the Center for Leadership Development.
