Mary Mary’s Tina Named Favorite Pregnant Celebrity!

Elev8 has learned that Tina Campbell of Mary Mary has won favorite pregnant celebrity!

Tina won the poll that was running on Belly Itch. Through the poll, readers could vote for their favorite celebrity who is currently pregnant.

Other celebrities who made it to the top favorites were Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, Kourtney Kardashian, Tori Spelling, Tamera Mowry- Housley, Sienna Miller, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Lily Aldrige.

The gospel artist Tina Campblell, also stars in Mary Mary’s reality TV show called “WE TV”. Currently, Tina and her husband Teddy are expecting their 5th child. Her due date is in August.

Gospel duo Mary Mary, just released a new record called Go Get It in May 8th, 2012. The first single from the album is a title song “Go Get It“ to which they also recorded a music video.

Mary Mary’s reality TV show this week was titled “Future Shock” was a shock. Everyone’s future was in a state of change.  Warryn tried to manage getting their first single mastered. The threat of Sony not liking the song and possibly killing the album loomed like a cloud over the episode.  Mitch in the meantime, wants a new stylist for the ladies. It is once again Goo Goo versus Mitch which always seems to get ugly.  Teddy, Tina’s husband, performs at the Whisky-A Go-Go while facing the fact that his daughter might want to move in with him and away from Chicago. Tina handles her step-daughter like a trooper and embraces that if it is truly a legitimate want then so be it, but if it was her trying to buck rules it was out.  In the end, Sony embraced the single “Go Get It”, a new stylist is being hired and Erica went into labor.

This week’s lesson was on confidence with judgment. The ladies were facing a possible trial that could change their lives. Their career at Sony could end. Erica’s baby could be in trouble and Tina could have an extra child in the house.  Each one of these issues were faced with grace and thought and reflection. Erica faced the fact that she may have pushed herself too hard and the consequences of that. Tina embraced her motherhood and the knowledge that she could do anything. Together they recorded a single that they could be proud of knowing they did their best.

Erica and Tina’s bickering came to head last night. We actually saw that one argument too many left both women feeling stressed, unloved and unwanted. Tina facing the fact of her tendency to have everything perfect and Erica wanting Tina to be more like her added fuel to the fire. In n a sit down to confide to her mother that she was feeling like a complete failure, Tina revealed that it may be time for therapy.  Her mother doing what most mothers do assured her that she was a good mother, sister and wife , but was too hard on herself. Tina realizing that she was passing this on to her daughter faced a true moment of truth.

Meanwhile Warryn is left to work on tracks in the study that would allow them to have a great album submission to Sony while the ladies worked out their differences. He realized that if Erica and Tina didn’t talk there may not be a Mary Mary. Finally both women  realizing that this could be the end of the group, they opted to go to therapy.  In therapy  they were advised that it might be necessary for them to communicate and visit where they came  from.

Tina and Erica left the office and headed back to the old neighborhood they were from realizing that they had come from  hard times to great times. This allowed them to embrace each other and celebrate ay Tina’s baby shower.

This  week’s episode’s lesson is that if you do not communicate and listen you will miss out on the best of others. It is a skill that one must always practice. You must also be willing to listen. Listening to the the person strengthens the bond that you have.  Erica realized that Tina loved her and wanted to work but may not work the same or respond the same. Tina realized that her need for perfection translates to her being seen as bossy and demanding. It was a time for growth!

WE tv announced in a press release that it has ordered a second season of its original series Mary Mary just six weeks into the debut season’s successful run.

The second season begins production this month; 10 one-hour episodes will premiere on WE tv in early 2013.

The second season will follow Erica and Tina through the birth of Tina’s fifth child, their latest album release – Go Get It – a family wedding, a cross-country album tour and countless appearances and events, all while balancing their busy, growing families.

“The success of ‘Mary Mary’ is both a testament to the engaging personalities of Erica and Tina and to WE tv’s programming strategy of catering to an underserved audience of African American women,” said Lauren Gellert, WE tv’s senior vice president of original production & development.

Added Erica and Tina: “We’re super excited about season 2 — more music, more mommying, more husbands, more Goo Goo, Mitchell and Ms. Honey, and definitely more fun and chaos!”

To date, Mary Mary has been viewed by 11.1 million total viewers since its premiere on March 29, and is delivering three times WE tv’s prime time female viewership average. The season one finale airs on Thursday, May 31 at 9 pm, ET/PT.

There’s been a lot of interesting talk about Mary Mary’s hit TV series since it premiered on We TV. Showing a different side of the black family and the superstars involved, it’s been something positive and entertaining to watch. R&B/soul singer Jill Scott recently expressed that she felt the same way via Twitter and it started  a not so friendly interaction with she and Braxton sisters Tamar & Towanda who struck back disagreeing.

As a result, Erica & Tina Campbell offered their response defending neither of the three other ladies involved. Telling the entertainment website Singersroom.com that they are happy that people are watching the show, Mary Mary didn’t seem to want to get into the middle of this battle.
