Words of the day: Go on Through

Knowing God personally requires trusting Him through the hard times in life and not running away from trials. It requires being faithful to do whatever He says to do, being steadfast while wating for Him to work out your problems.

You understand how good God is when you see His deliverance in your life. You can’t get that certainty by reading a book about Him. Your faith increases by going through tough times and seeing His presence make a difference in your life. Don’t run away from God during tests and trials; draw near to Him, and listen for His voice of assurance.

Take that and run with it!

(from Joyce Meyer~ Starting Your Day Right)

Have a great day!

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy (for our failures) and find grace to help in good time for every need (appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it).

Words for the Day: Approach God’s Throne

What a great High Priest we have in Jesus. He understands our experience, and He knows what it is like to live in a human body. He positioned Himself to go through the same kind of temptations we do, but He didn’t give in to them.

He knows that the tempter lies in wait for us, and he knows we need His mercy and strength. We still fall short even when we have the best intentions to do good. God tells us to receive, not strive to get, but just to receive new mercy for each day.

Take that and run with it!

Words for the day: Get Fit

“Every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things.” That word all is a difficult concept for us to grasp.

We need to live a disciplined life , physically, spiritually, and emotionally, if we want to enjoy God’s plan for us. The fruit of the Spirit is self- control, and the fruit of the flesh is no control.

So take care of yourself physically this year. Get fit so you can do what God has planned for you to do in 2010.

Take that and run with it!
